Ryanair Flight Change Fee

Hi all - my first post! (waves)
I booked a flight to Dublin back in May 2020. Recently I have had an operation which has lead me being unfit to fly, their policy is 10 days post operation. I asked for a refund to which I was refused, so then I asked to change flights. I was quoted £180 to change the flights, which is more than I paid for them!
I have been polite at all times when asking for help via Twitter, Email, Phone and their Website which has got me nowhere. I have travelled many times with Ryanair but this seems to not come into their way of thinking when it comes to customer sericve.
Can anybody help?

You need to claim on your travel insurance.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3662

I would agree. This sounds like a travel insurance claim if a new medical condition has prevented you from flying. I am afraid this is not a RyanAir issue but nice to hear that they have nevertheless extended to you the option to reschedule your flight to a later date (paying any fare difference).0

"If you make changes online the fee will be €/£45 per passenger, per one way flight. If you contact our reservation centre to make a change or ask for the change at our ticket desk at the airport, the fee will be €/£60 per passenger, per one way flight."
I would assume then that the new flights are more expensive making the £180 total.
It can often be cheaper buying new tickets but agree your travel insurance is likely to be the best place to contact.0
