This is more of a little rant than anything else as I can probably get around the problem easily enough.
My wife has to return two faulty items to Amazon.
Amazon don't provide a printable return label like eBay. She has to download QR codes to an app on a smart phone and take the package to a PO with a label printing facility.
Amazon appear to expect everyone to have access to a modern smart phone. She has a very old smart(ish) phone that is so short of storage space that she can't load any more apps on it. She does not have nor want mobile data so it isn't straightforward to have the QR codes on her phone email.
To get around this I have printed the QR codes onto paper and hopefully that will work. They are very small but hopefully machine readable.
Is there any way to get a printable label from Amazon or are QR codes the only return method that they offer?

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

I don't know if Amazon will provide other types of label, sorry!
See this thread from last year from a forumite who had the same problem :

The second post from xxxxxxxx explains the whole process in great detail. (Since it's been copied and pasted from the amazon site).
As has been covered she can get emails and you have a printer so theres little issue bar your own annoyance.
RM are also bringing in a bring the label collection service though whether its an option for returns remains to be seen.
As for what Amazon will provide for the return, then Amazon is the ones to ask.
There's usually an option to have a printable label. You can also opt for collection by other than RM, usually Hermes.
You'll usually get four or five options for returns, including a printable and non printable option.
If you can't change it within the order then get on to live chat and they'll email you something you can print.
I took the two parcels to the Post Office today with the printed QR codes.
One worked the other didn't.
The PO lady said that, as the address and other details were identical, she could print the working code label twice. This is what she did so hopefully Amazon will recognise that I have actually returned both items.
Each item only cost £8.99 so I couldn't be bothered taking one home and trying to print the QR code again or get another label.

The address is the same but not the tracking numbers
QR codes are best displayed on screen as poor print quality leads to scanning issues.
I didn't want to spend more time travelling to the PO and queueing etc..
I have contacted Amazon and informed them of the situation.

You pay say "well I shouldn't have to" but then people in modern houses may say they shouldn't have to use electric instead of gas.
It's the way things are now.
You can either be inconvenienced or not.
Sorry for the neg.
Our lives are not significantly 'complicated' or 'inconvenienced' by the lack of a modern smart phone. We both have modern and powerful laptops and we do a lot of online shopping. Returns to eBay and the many other companies we deal with are simple. They send us a postage label on line, we print it and return the item via a PO or other shop or collection service.
Next time we need to return something to Amazon we will follow the useful advice suggested above.
We don't need to buy new smart phones.

you don't even need data outside the home as you can screenshot via wifi
I also note you mention PO. Are you meaning PO or conflating them with Royal Mail?
In my experience RM are far less likely to have sizeable queues vs PO
