I am asking them to confirm they are part of the BVRLA. Then I will try and explain that they did not follow their own policy, or give me the opportunity to appeal.0 -
Just as an update, my work have not responded to my emails regarding this since my last post. I had asked them for clarification regarding BVRLA status, and to enquire as to why they seemingly did not follow their policy.0

Hi all,
I think this is my final update. Firstly, thank you to everyone that provided some help and support on this.
In regards to the outcome, it was mixed. I received two tickets, as anticipated. I was initially querying and trying to fight the first ticket, based on the advice given. Once I pointed out that they had not stuck to their own policy and took away my right to challenge the ticket, they stopped replying to my emails altogether.
In between, I ended up accepting a new job. So, with the Christmas and New Year period, and changing job, things were quite busy.
I received the second ticket, which they did not pay in time and then ended up paying the increased fee (£100) which they passed on to me with the same spiel as before. I called them again and challenged this, and then informed them that I was actually leaving the company. As a result, they said there was not enough time to investigate it, so they will cancel the ticket and fine they put on to me.
So, all in all, the first ticket I ended up having my salary deducted. The second one, they say they have cancelled but that remains to be seen once I receive my payslip.
Thank again.2 -
There have been cases in the past on the forums where an employee has pushed back on their company who paid parking charges contrary to their own terms & conditions, where the employee ended up effectively being pushed out of the company. So one always needs to tread carefully and not rock the boat too much.
However, your relationship with that company is now over. So, if you feel so minded, you could demand that they repay you the charge and admin fees from the first parking charge. You should write to the company secretary setting out your position and what they owe. When they refuse/ignore, you send them a Letter Before Claim, and proceed to a court claim, Be sure to follow the Pre-Action Protocol. What have you got to lose (apart from the filing fee)? If they see you're serious, they may well pay up just to make you go away.3
