The likes of HSBC are only changing DEBIT cards to mastercard.
Santander have issued mastercard credit cards for at least 6 years.Life in the slow lane0 -
Both Visa and MasterCard have the same interchange rate on transactions between the UK and EU.born_again said:

The reason why which banks issue which brand credit card is a factor is due to market share being one of the factors Amazon and Visa will take into account.0 -

Santander have issued mastercard credit cards for at least 6 years. It might not, but if a huge portion of the market that has a visa card and isn't looking for another card or a switch to a Mastercard, they'll be unable to use their Visa Credit cards. That is a problem for Barclaycard who rightly will challenge Amazon. Most likely this will all get solved anyhow. Yes Visa charges may have some issues, but let's not pretend Amazon is some sort of moral leader financially either.1
