Yes but I don't have a mastercard credit card and I don't want to use a debit card (reduced protection!)

    No explanations anybody?
    What protection is reduced?

This is now the 6th thread on this subject.
Thanks I did a search before posting and didn't see anything!
This is the 5th on on this board today and the other was on the Praise, Vent and Warnings board.

I have always avoided that board just because of the name.

The email I've received from Amazon is quite clear why theyre (potentially) doing it - ""due to the high fees Visa charges for processing credit card transactions."

As above, it might all be sorted before then.
That I wouldn't have minded so much, but my email from Amazon included no such hints and the page on their website that I linked to included no such explanation either. So minus marks for Amazon.

    Or get an Amazon Mastercard?
Well, no. I certainly won't be giving Amazon any more insight into my financial life than they already have.

The reason is irrelevant really, its the execution that is important (assuming it happens).

As already said, plenty of Mastercards out there you can choose from.

Thanks to you as well for pointing this out, but I just did another search and didn't see any relevant results.

As somebody else pointed out, there is the section 75 protection for credit cards (and yes I sometimes do spend over £100 on Amazon). Also, giving them my debit card details exposes me to more varieties of hacking attacks against my bank account.

Thanks, at last I can see them. Why doesn't the search facility return them, I wonder?
