Burnt orange.

Has anyone used this sort of colour recently, to good effect? Or know of a nice luminous shade of this colour?
Tempted to go for this in a bathroom revamp, possibly just on one wall if it's a bit powerful...
See below for the kind of effect I'm looking/hoping for, although it would likely be with scorched timber basin unit and fittings - shelves, etc. That's the idea at least...
Thanks.

Ooooo... Burnt orange venetian plaster with a gold wax would look stunning, especially with natural sunlight on it.

Right...now I can see again! I love your photo! It's a great colour and I can see it looking amazing with the right additions! Just wanted to share mine. Although it looks red it's a dark orange which I saw on a book cover and loved. This was done many years ago but the paint came from the B&Q range that you can get mixed on request. I also got an amazing purple paint there for another room. We have done the whole rooms and ceilings and radiators in those colours but it wouldn't be for everyone I'm sure haha! Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

I'd do the whole room, like that one. No compromises. The painting really makes it.I have done a bathroom for a client where the stone bath exterior was burnt orange - Charlottes Lock by Farrow & Ball. Walnut cabinetry and some rather whacky tiles that looked like they were also made from walnut. She's well into mid century design and has lined the window with orange/brown glassware that looks lovely in the light. It's unconventional but it looks really classy.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That cloakroom is a thing of beauty! (Floor looks a bit cheap though).
I had a similar wall colour in the small study in my first home, it was a burnished copper but was quite divisive at the time. Bookshelves across two walls and a study broke the colour up, and I loved it.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Yes, the conventional 'wood laminate' floor looks wrong. It's just the colour and its effect that appealed.

I had a look and it's an old dulux paint mixed on request so no longer available except a google search comes up with a match in Russian! B&Q do the Valspar range now but there are some amazing shades of orange there and I'm sure you'd find similar! This is what I found....the one I used is the darkest.
