    Monthly update!

    Mortgage balance - £161,332.09

Pay rise has finally arrived! After tax, NI and pension that is an extra £70 in my bank, throughout May I made an extra £426.84 on Uber Eats, nothing on Amazon Flex as it has been quiet, downside is I've been hit pretty hard with additional outgoings this month, car service + pads, and gas/electric quarterly bills.

Enjoy the rest of nice weather everyone!

    Morning all!

    Mortgage balance - £161,012.25

I've been accepted onto Just Eat now to add to my income, they seem to pay better than Uber but you do have to book in 4 hour 'shifts' unless an open run comes up, total made was £501.47 from Uber/Just Eat, no Amazon again as without any kind of increase in pay like Christmas they are just not worth it for the miles to income ratio.

Despite all the extra money coming in, it seems to go no where these days, £110 for 3 bags of shopping is insane, I feel awful for people out there who are not as fortunate as us.

Pretty expensive month for us, eldest's birthday and 2 nights away at the start of the summer holidays, at least we are managing to keep our heads above water.

    Hi All,

Bit late on the update this month! Can't believe we've been in the new house a whole year already.

    Mortgage balance - £160,691.85

Additional income from JE/Uber was high at £761.07 but only because I had to work more to cover the extra expenses, doh!

  • Morning!

Mortgage payment has been taken - balance now £160,370.90

    Just Eat/Uber income - £538.31

Looking forward to March when the credit card for the budget overflow on the work we had done earlier this year is all paid off, but as we will be nearly at remortgage time I fear that the extra cash I will have will be taken away due to the higher interest rate we will have to pay, I guess to look at it in a better light is at least I have the money to cover it, despite not being able to pay the mortgage off quicker.

    Hi All!

Long time since I last posted lots going on and I've been ticking along with extra work Uber/Just Eat etc and now Amazon is ramping up for Christmas so hopefully a good few months of extra income ahead.

December payment for the mortgage is due out on Friday but the outstanding balance is currently £159,727.30

Happy new year all, hopefully 2024 is good to us all! I'm hoping that this year can only be better than last for me.

    Mortgage balance is currently £159,081.44.

I've received the dreaded re-mortgage letter for 'Part 1' of our mortgage, the 2.19% fix ends in July. Staying with Santander as the other half is with them fixed at 1.99% til April 2026.

Best offer from them so far is a 2 year fix at 4.92%, and if anything lower comes up between now and July we can move to that product which I am hoping will be the case, as it stands I am looking at an increase of approx £131 a month / £1,572 a year which I think isn't to bad (but not great either!) and I can work the increase by putting a few more hours in on delivery's.

If needed I have looked at refinancing my car now rather than at the end of the PCP in 2 years, that would save me approx £33 a month if needed but as I don't need to just yet, I might let the balance go down further to try and lower the monthly payment.

Apart from that all my bills are pretty fixed and bare bones so nothing to be saved.

    Hi All :)

Not to long to go now til the new mortgage rate kicks in so I'm in cost cutting mode, despite wanting to keep my current car when the PCP ended I have changed 2 years early for a slightly older but more suited car with a loan from my bank making me a saving of just under £63 a month, my next move is Sky which is already on the most basic package but we'll see!

    Mortgage balance is £158,433.34

Not much in the way of additional income from Uber/JE/Amazon as the dark nights and cold put me off, I've managed to keep myself bumped up with a bit of overtime and also my mileage from work.

    Hi again :)

    Mortgage balance is £158,108.43

Checked in with our mortgage broker to see if any further rate reductions were available, we locked in 4.92% on a 2 year fix in Jan which is due to start in July, she told me the best on the market from Santander for re mortgage now is 5.06%... fingers crossed we get a rate reduction from the BoE soon and it kicks off some better deals before we commit to the fix!

Not much else to report, I didn't manage to get a better deal from Sky but did stop the significant increase they wanted (£97pm!!), it will now be £64.50 which is an increase of £7.50 a month.

Pretty stuck on reducing anything else now so I'll just have to see what happens.

    Morning all,

Nothing exciting to report, just the mortgage balance - £157,782.96

Have a good bank holiday weekend everyone :)

  • Wow you have made amazing headway with the mortgage! Great work on the income, although variable it clearly makes a big difference. A few nights away sounded like a great use of money, needs to be a balance of living and surviving! Keep up the great work!
