PCN issued in pub car park

  • To a pub where parking was possible perhaps. Wouldn't be any need to restrict parking in many places if the privilege wasn't abused. Not that people seem to care where they park these days. Often in highly dangerous locations close to road junctions.
I agree, trouble in the UK is too many cars and lack of parking spaces.

But be in no doubt that these parking companies go hunting for places like pubs as they also have run out of spaces to operate in.
ANPR in a pub is plain stupidity and the landlord should pull out the plug

Trouble now is the landlord has signed up to a very expensive "get out" contract and each day he will lose customers and wonder why,

That's the thing about us Brits, we just walk away

In the cities where I work and live and work PPCs have even moved onto churches ⛪

With pubs I can see it backfiring as people will literally just be popping in for that swift half as they can't afford to get relaxed and stay for several (and collect their car the next morning) whereas they won't risk it now.  Plus anyone who gets stung will be reluctant to return out of principle. Plus the landlords will be locked into hard contracts. There is a pub near to me which has a bag over its' ANPR camera.

If pubs started putting in as much effort to attract customers as they are in emptying their car parks they might do better!

Well the pub has apparently contacted Parking Eye on my behalf, apparently it takes 7-10 days to hear back. How convenient that it takes almost as much time as the discounted rate period...

Well it gets better - I logged onto the payment site just to see what it said, and it now shows as status Cancelled with zero outstanding balance

So that worked out well, I was surprised to say the least. Thanks all for the help and I will definitely be more cautious about private car parks in future, especially if they are camera controlled
