Paying Igloo and E-on switching problem

I just spent an hour on the phone to Eon and eventually they said that they never took over my account, as I moved house, so I'm in limbo. Big account credit with Igloo of £622 and they tell me to ask Eon for it, Eon say they don't know me.0

Philbot007 I am in the same situation as you. I am in credit Igloo went into administration the day before I moved house. I spent most of yesterday trying to get some sense out of Eon who eventually told me that my account from Igloo had not been transferred to Eon Next but had in fact gone to Scottish Power! When I asked why I hadn't received any communication from either company regarding this transfer I was told by Eon that Scottish Power would have sent me a letter. All I can think is that the new owners of my old house are with Scottish Power, so they are using this as a way of getting out of giving me my refund. I dont know. I was on the understanding that ALL Igloo accounts would be moved to EON regardless. So, where is my account? I can't speak to anyone at Scottish Power without an account number. I have however managed to find a complaints email address for Eon, (unhappy@eonnext.com) and have explained the situation again in writing. The first reply confirmed what an Eon operator had told me that they had never received my account. In reply I attached the last email that I had received from Eon dated 21st Oct to which Eon changed their tune and they told me that "Currently the account from Igloo hasn't transferred over, this is something that takes a little time. Once it does we can amend the account to show the date you moved out."
I wait with baited breath!0 -
Just by way of an update:
I switched from Igloo to EDF just days before Igloo went under. My account was £300 in credit but then Igloo took another £300+ the day after I switched.
Finally got my £600 refund from Eon Next with a cheque dated 12/11/21 - received a few days ago. Just a bit irked that it now requires a special trip to the bank to mix with the covid masses and deposit the cheque because it is over the £500 limit for photo deposit by app.
