anyhow he is contacting his solicitors next week to speak about the issues....should I expect a letter from his solicitor saying we have to pay for the issues rectifying ?
You should expect him to go very quiet once his solicitor has told him it would be pointless to pursue you.
Some solicitors will send a letter if their client insists - but that doesn't mean he can claim anything from you.

Indeed. After all the solicitor gets £150+ for the letter so will write whatever his client instructs, within the law. And the client can 'claim' whatever he wants. Does not mean a court would award him what he claims!

Unless you lied then there's nothing to worry about.

What makes him think the boiler was condemned? Where has he heard that?

Perhaps remind him that Building Control should be notified and that they will require thermal upgrades (wall insulation, etc). Beyond that, not your problem.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • We stupidly gave him our number for if they had any queries,  regarding the boiler we left paperwork for them like instructions and there was a service report there all it was ,was the boiler wasn't fixed to the wall safely but he says he needs a new boiler no idea how he's come to that conclusion because all the radiators have been taken out
  • An Arkell v. Pressdram reply is very tempting but sometimes the best reply is no reply at all.

How on earth does this crazy person have your contact details!

he bought he house, he had the opportunity to get surveys etc.  Nothing to do to with you now.

I moved at the same time.  The integrated fridge freezer stopped working on day one and there was a damp smell that could only be rectified by ripping out the bathroom(to uncover a large smelly puddle underneath the bath).

But that’s life.  I never dreamed of going back to the previous owner.  It’s my house.
Not that uncommon and in any case sellers know where you live so will alway be able to send you a letter even if you don't excahnge contact details. This was about teh buyers,s orry. Not uncommon but also not a given.
  • Do sellers always know where you have moved to?  I don’t know where my seller moved to.  I don’t think I do anyway unless it’s buried in legal documents?

It seems to me like your buyer got a bargain when he bought your house. His solicitor could write to you and then your solicitor could write back to his solicitor but it doesn't mean that you are under any obligation to pay him anything. It's easy for people to threaten others with solicitors' letters and court action but it doesn't mean that they are in the right or that they would win any case in court. He will need to provide full proof that he's been hoodwinked - but if the house has been gutted that might be a bit difficult.

I agree with others, ignore him. And don't enter into any further communication with him. You could always threaten to sue him for harassment.
