Obtaining PAC from talkmobile

I'm leaving talkmobile and requested a PAC by text ( PAC to 65075). The text response was ' Sorry we didn't understand your last message...please call 5888 or visit [website]'.
Has anyone else encountered this rejection? Surely it breaks ofcom rules?
Similarly I couldn't see a way of requesting a PAC on the website.
I did get my pac by calling 5888 and to be fair there was no hard sell but I really object to being forced into a call.

They offered an alternative route, which is what Ofcom would want to see, rather than them saying 'no PAC for you, mate. You're staying'.0 -

@neilrich99 Talkmobile need the last two digits of your "security PIN" to be added to your PAC text request, did you do that?0

Thanks F-L, As I mentioned above I'm sorted having reluctantly called but this may be of use to other forum members. Which PIN are you referring to and where can it be found? I can't recall setting one up when I moved to Talkmobile and certainly there's no PIN listed in my account or on my phone. Cheers, neilrich990

Sorry, I think I've just answered this myself. You have to call (5888) to set a PIN up. So if you haven't done so if you wish to obtain a PAC you can either call then text for a PAC once you have a number or call to obtain a PAC. Either way you're making a call at some point which kind of defeats the simplicity of the text service.0

Agreed. OFCOM rules say mobile companies have to have a "request your PAC by text" service. Rules don't say it has to be simple....5

HiIsn't the PIN the PUK number for your sim. You can view it via the 'account summary' page. I think you can also request your PAC/STAC from here also.Cheers

PUK - Personal Unblocking Key - 8 digit code to unlock your SIM if you have changed and forgotten the ....
SIM PIN - 4 digit code to block unauthorised use of phone - default of '0000' - set by user
Account security PIN is optional 4 digit security code used when accessing account via TM care teams.
One of these is probably the right one.
