As I said in my first post it started to leak 10 months after purchase. I can guarantee you it's been used less than a dozen times and only used on a 35 minute commute to work and even then rarely used for the full length of the commute. So to suggest any half decent jacket of this age and use history needs reproofing within the above parameters that's just nuts.
I'm sure Outdoor Research is a reputable company and I'm hoping they and their distributors stand behind their International Infinite Guarantee.0 -

Hmmm. Was it described as waterproof? I ask because I've just looked at a couple of reviews. One describes it as having "modest water-resistance" and the other, although happier with the level of rain protection, judged that the waterproof coating and taped seams weren't as durable as they should be.
Both reviewers thought it was excellent as a lightweight really compact jacket though.
I agree the amount of use you've had from it is disappointing.

Outdoor Research say something like they know consumer rights are different in all countries and they support their international distributors who try to do their best. Waffle really. What rights you have are only in connection with your retailer Outdoor Action UK. Don't bother chasing anyone else.0 -

I run (a bit) and bike (a bit). I always thought that the Helium II is a great jacket for running, not so much for biking. Runners look for ultra lightweight and just put a jacket on briefly if it rains. When I'm biking unless it is very hot I have a jacket on all the time. You are much faster on the bike and need really good penetration resistance round the neck and round the armpit vents. Also what feels like rain is often your own sweat when doing some serious pedal pushing. For that you need the fabric to let water vapour pass through and that's why water beading matters1
