Took around a Month for my first buyers to instruct a Conveyancer.
Took around a fortnight for my third buyers to instruct.

Guess it varies. Mine was instructed the day I listed for sale, with my onward purchase address listed as "TBC" because we'd obviously not found anywhere yet, and that was amended to the actual address on the day our offer was accepted.
Thank you - Seems like lots of buyers are slow :/ I had a few offers at the same time and picked this person, so I will be so angry if as 3rd one does the same...
Perhaps buyers are more relaxed and have no need to wind themselves up unneccesarily over matters which aren't the immediate priority.

I suppose the buyer has a lot less to lose than I do and so does not comprehend the urgency of it all :/ My seller will not wait forever and I suppose that is why I am so anxious about the delay to it all. I guess do not worry about things you cant control,  but those are the things that are the easiest to worry about.

I'm in the process of selling a property - the estate agent advised us not to engage a solicitor prior to accepting an offer. When we did get an offer (mid September) I struggled to find one who a) replied to my enquiry at all and b) if they did, said that they were taking on new work. Presumably this was mainly down to the stamp duty holiday, but it was an anxious few days chasing from me before I found one who would take me on.
