Toshiba satellite L60-1-XP. Running W10 21H1.
Suddenly this morning, none of the keyboard keys are responding. The num lock light is on and the remote mouse works as does the mouse pad. I've tried power off and on and looked at device manager. Nothing obvious. Also tried a troubleshoot on the keyboard. No joy. Any ideas? Ta.

long shot but you could power off, remove battery, hold power button a while to discharge everything, wait a while then power up1

Thanks. Here's an update. Tried looking at keyboard driver on device manager - not showing so choose 'show hidden'. Then PS/2 keyboard showed but said not present. I uninstalled the keyboard driver and restarted laptop. Now keyboard is showing as present and working ok, but it's still unresponsive. Funny thing is now the mouse pad has stopped working! Will try a full power off and on.0

Update. Powered off and on and now back to where it's saying the keyboard is not present! And the mouse pad is still not working.0

Did you try the "mains off, battery out, press power button for 30+ seconds, then mains on or battery in and power on" routine?Jenni x1

Darn it. Discovered that the battery is held in with screws and I'm on hols and don't have a screwdriver with me.

Hi,just try a sharp pointed knife to loosen screws, gently, don't mess up screw head.0

I might leave it til I get home before removing battery etc. In the meantime I've discovered that some of the function keys work - eg screen brightness up/ down. Curious.0

Don't suppose you have a USB keyboard you can test with the laptop?
When you say function keys, do you mean the row of function keys across the top of the keyboard (F1, F2, F3...), or do you mean keys that have a second function when the 'Fn' key is pressed? Like the display brightness adjustment.
I wonder if the contact for the 'Fn' key is stuck closed?
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?1 -

Ok, I now seem to have got this working, somehow. Here's how it happened.
After returning from hol, I carried out earlier advice - shut down the laptop, removed mains and the battery pack, held the power button down for over 30 seconds and left it like that for over an hour. No joy. Problem still present.
At that point my keyboard, except for some ( haven't/ can't check them all) was unresponsive. The num lock led was lit. If I go to device manager/show hidden devices/keyboards, the entry for Standard PS/2 Keyboard has a yellow triangle. If I look at properties it says this device is not present, is not working or does not have all it's drivers installed, code 24. If I go to Driver and choose Update Driver, it says the best driver is already installed.
So I uninstall the keyboard, then Restart, then look at the keyboard again in device manager, there is no yellow triangle and it says it is working properly. I check and it is! Not only that but the mouse pad is now working too! And the num lock key LED is not lit.
The thing is, I did all this (apart from the power off, remove battery bit) more than once while on hol and it didn't work.
Can anyone make any sense of this? Could it be anything to do with hol accommodation - poor WiFi or mains?
