Amazon Scam

Has anyone else not received their parcel from Amazon?
My parcel was due to arrive on Sunday 07/11 but it never arrived, despite stating ‘delivered’. I contacted Amazon customer services and they advised to wait to Tuesday 09/11, which I did. I have them recontacted Amazon to advise them of this and was advised to contact the Police and report the item as ‘stolen’ to obtain a reference number and then they would refund me. I explained that the Police deal with crime, however, it was repeated to contact authorities as the package status their ended stated ‘delivered’.

I contacted the Police as requested by Amazon and advised them of this. They said that they had to have the full Police report. I explained that I wasn’t able to obtain that information, and again I was shunned by customer services.
I later received a call from my neighbour explaining that it had been delivered to her. It had been left outside her front door in the rain.
I have re contacted Amazon and advised them of this and requested a refund. Amazon are now not providing me with a full refund as the item is now longer required and damaged, but I’m still be charged for the returns shipping.
I am outraged!
please help.

Similar but not as devastating happened to me on Saturday, 6 November down on the south coast where I was staying in a flat for a few days.I ordered 2 books (A and
and then another book (C), both orders to be delivered the next day by Prime.
Amazon rearranged the orders as two deliveries: combining A and C and putting B in a separate delivery.Book B was delivered around midday. The online record said 'Parcel was handed to resident'. It always says that but it's never true. As always happens, the parcel was left outside the front door and the delivery person didn't even ring the bell. That always happens and is very annoying. I checked throughout the day whether the delivery van was outside (very visible) or the other books left outside (if I'd missed the delivery van). Nothing. At 5pm I got the 'Your package has been delivered!' email for BOTH deliveries. As I was leaving the following day I wanted to contact Amazon to state the situation and rearrange delivery. After many minutes in the online customer services labarynth that didn't seem to offer any way to talk to a person I did finally find a way to chat. Long end of story short, I decided against requesting a redelivery and for a refund, thinking that I could reorder without extra cost.Anyway, the next morning as I was going out to the shops, there sitting on the ground outside the front door was the parcel with books A and C. No delivery email, no word from a neighbour that it had been delivered to them (if it had been they would have handed it to me, not done an 'Amazon delivery').So, the outcome: I got the refund, didn't need to reorder those two book, and have subsequently had all orders delivered to a local collection point. Still detest Amazon though - especially now that they are discontinuing payment by Visa credit card, which has nothing to do with Visa's charge and everything to do with Amazon's own Mastercard credit card.

I don't see a "scam" here, just a delivery c0ck-up. I would say you're entitled to a refund, you'll just need to chase them for it and/or escalate to somebody who knows what they're doing.0

The item was delivered when it said it was but just lacked the detail of where it was delivered... we get this all the time with all delivery companies, for Amazon we went for about 6 months with each parcel "handed to receptionist", still not sure who he/she is but most ended up with our neighbours.
So the parcel was delivered but got damaged, so you simply log into your Amazon account, select to return the item, select the reason as damaged items, choose your return method of which there is almost certainly more than one free option and return the item. In the optional comments field state the parcel was delivered outside and the damage is water damage by rain whilst the parcel was on the doorstep.

As ever with anything like this. Always check neighbours.
Why did neighbour wait over 2 days before telling you?Life in the slow lane0 -

I took in your parcel and kept it safe, as far as I'm concerned the least you can do is walk over to my house to pick it up. Give it a few days and I'll likely turn up with it, as the neighbour did.0 -
Round here we get rid of any parcels as soon as they come home. 👍Life in the slow lane0

Wouldn't have made a difference to the outcome though - the water damage had been done by then.0
