  • Why didn't you renew your tariff online when your old one ended. I've never spoken with anyone to change my tariff.
  • @stewie_griffin That function wasn't available at the time, when I complained they could see I tried to log on and do that. That is my usual route tbh.
  • I think that's key to your complaint. You felt you had to cancel your Direct Debit as it was too much and you were unable to change to your preferred tariff despite trying to.
  • UPDATE - They've removed it :-) happy days. Thanks for the advice
  • Can I ask how you get it removed? I sold my house earlier in the year and moved in with family, so ended my account with EON. They've put me down as missing 2 months payments (I paid by monthly direct debit and paid the final bill on time). It's now affecting a mortgage application quite severely.

If you have proof of payments then I'd start with a formal complaint.

Just to follow up, for anyone else having the same issues. I logged a dispute with Equifax regarding the missed payments and it was resolved. It took about a week to get it fixed. I was also able to get an email written to me from EON confirming it was an error. I did have to hassle EON regularly before I got through to someone actually helpful.
