I am renovating my house in a conservation area. As I mentioned in another post, I have been getting quotes and they vary widely. The quotes generally range between $12k to $30k per small/medium bathroom. A large bathroom can be $40k. All the quotes are from licensed bathroom renovators and are for labour plus a shower screen. I need to buy all the PC items such as bathtubs, vanity units, tiles and etc. One quote stands out so much that I think it deserves its own post. This builder quoted $70k for one small bathroom, with allowances such as $20/sqm for tiles, a hollow bathroom door, and etc, basically really cheap stuff. Did he really think he would get the job?
