Around 460,000 (23% of) motorists could have saved a collective £2.3 million by renewing their driving licence online between April 2020 and March 2021, instead of by post, according to new figures from the DVLA. Meanwhile, an unknown number of other drivers could have saved by avoiding the Post Office's renewal service...

That link worked for me when I first read the post about an hour ago.
It is now dead.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -

Same as Born_again, I get the whoops!
I'll be doing mine at the PO as I don't have a valid PP, maybe I will have one when it comes to the renewal in 10 years.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

It's different for the over 70's, everyone else needs a valid passport:

Anything i can do online with the DVLA i do. I get the impression posting something to them risks ending up in a black hole where time stands still for months.0

DvLA admitted it was their fault that I couldn't renew online, but I'm still waiting for them to consider refunding the cost difference...0

The trouble is that a heck of a lot of us - see DVLA Facebook - have a valid passport, but the DVLA website does not recognise our details so we can't renew online. I don't see why I should pay more at the Post Office when I shouldn't need to go there, but it's impossible to get through to the DVLA by phone, they don't reply on Facebook and their webchat has been off for months - now what?0

Can anyone advise what the cost difference is without everyone needing to go on a broken-link wild goose chase please! Thank you0
