A mess of issues (I need advise please)

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me please.

I recently booked a holiday for next June abroad. I used Blueseaholidays. The flights in the all inclusive is with ryanair.

Bluesea contacted  3 weeks ago and informed me that our original flights are cancelled by ryan air. No explanation why. The options for amendments I wasn't happy with. It would've meant we would lose almost a day of holiday because of travelling and flight times. I asked them to look onto adding another day on our holiday. They did this for a bit more cost and so that meant we are now going for 9 nights instead of 8.

Now here comes the issue. I since have found out I need to reschedule our flights due to something next year which means us looking to go a few weeks later now.  Which incurs another new price for the hotel which I expected. However according to blueseaholidays ryanair have recently stopped them from amending flights for customers. We have to make ryan air account, link our package holiday with the airline to be able to make amendments ourselves now.

The new dates we have in mind our just over a week later than original dates, same people, same baggage. Same flight schedule there and back too. BUT all of a sudden ryan air expect £709 from me to amend.

Please someone tell me what an earth is going on with ryan air to justify this?

Our holiday is now in the balance. Of course I expect to pay some difference evening the hundreds but £709!!!

Bluesea holidays say they can't  help. They've had over half the total cost of the holiday already from me. I feel really screwed over.
Any advise would be gladly taken.
Kind regards

Prices fluctuate for all airlines, according to availability, if the new dates are school holidays or there aren’t many seats left on the flights you want then they will be more expensive .

It’s the same with BA if we want to go away for our Anniversary,  ( which falls near a School Holiday )  it costs us hundreds more than if we go a week later.

If you need specific dates you will have to pay more - if you want to save money you will have to be flexible with your dates or stick to what you have already paid for .

Out of interest- How many passengers is this for ?

Hi there, thanks for the response. It isn't in a school holiday and when I was was going through the seat selection there was hardly any seats booked. Went up and down for seat selection. Maybe a handful taken. Even the extra room seats were available. It is for next june. And it is for 5 passengers

Ryanair amendment fees are extortionate. They’re not designed for amending flights. Unfortunately it might be cheaper for you to book entirely new flights.
  • Designed for amendment or not?
    £709!
It has totally shocked me. And I do not know if i should wait a bit, try again. Or like you have suggested, lose the flight costs I've already been charged for in the holiday package and try to book with another airline.
I am baffled by it all and very frustrated.

Ryanair flight change fees are listed here https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/useful-info/help-centre/fees
with 5 passengers and 2 flights each (outbound and return) that is 10 x change fees...these range between £35 to £95 per passenger per flight so change fees (excluding any fare differences) would range from £350 to £950...the change fees themselves are unlikely to change, the fare difference may increase

Unfortunately I don't see any way around this.

You're beholden to Ryanair's T&C's in addition to those of Blueseaholidays. It's not the same as TUI or Jet2 who's packages use their own flights so they have the flexibility to change things. There's no way Blueseaholidays or you can bypass Ryanair's fees.

    😞☹😧
    So sad about this.
  • Ryanair are notorious for their exploitation of customers in this type of scenario.

Have they given you a breakdown of the cost?

10  fare increases and 10 amendments fees?
