Your correct ...a better screen is..... better
Using a laptop with a good screen is obviously helpful rather than using a laptop with a dull washed out terrible screen.
Your idea or thoughts seem to be aimed at a small portable .
I would get a decent large screen as a small portable may not be the right answer ....this you may discover after you have paid for it .
If you look at the phone market now they are all bigger than they once were...as a example

While chromebooks may not be everyones bag, my lenovo chromebook duet (10.1 inch) has made life a lot nicer.Something bigger than a phone to take with me (and tether to the phone), and with 400 nits the display is great in most situtations.I use it when I do not need anything better, which let's face it is most of the time!Would recomend to anyone who is ok with google and just needs a browser! (only downpoint is being arm/4gb it only runs 32bit android apps and a few companies have stopped bothering (sky go for instance)).0

Is she using tablet plugged in? Often screen brightness will be reduced to save power when running on battery only."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I cant see the point of buying a portable device where the screen doesnt work properly unless its plugged in !
Is this something that happens with tablets after a certain time from new ?
