Our mortgage offer with Barclays a few months ago took 2 days! However we went via a broker, borrowed well within our means and had a near perfect credit history.
  • Thank you all for commenting. It’s good to know yours took 4 weeks from valuation. I will try and wait patiently :)
  • I wonder if you got a stock answer from Barclays? 6 - 8 weeks is longer than it was even during the stamp duty holiday.

We got ours in 4 days in August, and our buyer got his in six days at the end of October. He had a valuation on day three.

None of the offers were only sent in the post, either - me & the solicitor both got digital copies automatically; and the paper copy followed a few days later.
    Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:
  • Did you go direct to Barclays or through a broker?

i don't think 3 weeks is that long so i would give them a couple more weeks before i start to worry.
  • **UPDATE**

Mortgage offer received today. 3 weeks and 5 days after the valuation

I will sleep peacefully tonight 😀

we gave up on barclays, they were just hopeless. HSBC sorted our mortgage in one day! subject to valuation... it took another 15 minutes from the valuation taking place (within 5 days) to make us an offer. it felt like Barclays didn't want us as customers. the stamp duty break is not an excuse, we're beyond that.
