So when you turn up explain the mistake and will they offer a discount on some drinks. Might not get the full amount back, but anything is better than nothing.

You don't 'feel robbed'. You just feel a bit daft for getting the numbers wrong. So why blame anyone else?

If you weren't cancelling (the extra ticket) what were you doing?
They don’t accept cancelling tickets either.
You say you weren't cancelling. So if you weren't asking them to cancel that ticket what were you asking them to do?
Presumably she means she wasn't cancelling the whole thing.

Just take someone else as a nice gesture.

Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

The OP says she recently treated friends.....  I take that as meaning the event is now past so it won't be possible to take somebody else.  Irrespective of that, non-refundable usually means exactly that and it's up to the purchaser to ensure they order what they actually want/need.  Looking at it from the venues point of view, it would be very easy for somebody to change their mind at the last minute and demand money back.

Ah yes, perhaps one friend couldn't make it there.

Didn't it alert you that you'd booked 6 tickets instead of 5 by the price shown before you clicked on 'buy'?
