I feel robbed!

I recently treat my friends to a night out at a local indoor golf bar. As a new mother my tiredness took over whilst booking and I accidentally bought an extra ticket.
I emailed the company straight away explaining my mistake.
I get it. I made the mistake. But there would only be 5 of us attending.
The company are refusing to refund as per their policy of no refunds. I just find this very unfair. I wasn’t cancelling, I just wanted a bit of support on a simple mistake.
Has anyone had anything similar?

Look at the other thread here of someone who booked a flight drunk and when sobered up realised they couldnt use the flight.
Leisure activities on a specified date are exempt from cooling off rules and so you are down to the mercy of the company... or finding an extra friend to tag along0 -
If you weren't cancelling (the extra ticket) what were you doing?4

Just go along, enjoy the evening and resolve not to go there again. It's a mistake, and it's a shame they aren't prepared to exercise a little leniency, but perhaps they have plenty of custom and don't need to do so.0

Maybe someone has a friend they can bring and it could end up being a "happy accident"?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride3
