Binance Verification

I created a Binance account about six months ago.  I am a technical person and started testing their technical products, which worked out well.

I can now no longer use the majority of their services until I verify my account.  I am unsure whether I will ever buy crypto as I understand the risks, however I am still interested in testing their technical products.

Therefore I want to verify my account but before I do that I want to do my due diligence as I have to send them a lot of personal information e.g. photo; driving license; passport etc.  Has anyone else verified a Binance account? Here is more information about why verification is required: https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/crypto-exchange-binance-id-verification-enforcement-passports-accounts-trading-zhao-2021-8

I think its pretty standard as you are effectively opening up a bank account with them, some of these companies have to do things like log your records with HMRC for tax purposes so they can come chasing you if you make huge amounts of money..

They are not regulated in terms of providing FCSC cover on money you put in (i don't think so at least), but they and you still have potential tax and fraud liabilities

I've provided passports/driving licence shots to Trading212, Revolut, Coinbase... i nearly set up Binance.. but chose not to after reading up a bit more about some of the security history and restriction on access to funds

Just imagine if they didn't how easy it would be for somebody else to open up and an account in your name and pretend they were you

I noticed the message today when I navigated to: https://www.binance.co.uk/.  I live in the UK and I am registered at: https://www.binance.co.uk/.  Does this mean I would not be able to verify my account anyway?:

I would never give Binance a penny, personally. Dodgy company.

Do you have more specifics than that? I've used it for years and never had a problem.

Just use the app. To me it's just a crypto wallet, nothing more nothing less. It doesnt "belong" to any country. That's the very nature of decentralized blockchain finnance

May not belong to any country. But it's pretty useless within a country that's banned it. A lot has happened in the past 6 months.
