Number one looks as if someone has spent some time, money and effort on it.

If you want a cheaper house then go for number two and spend the money on doing it up. I cannot comment on the costs but I would image it would be a fair bit to make number 2 look like number 1 - although not the difference in asking price, less than that.

Number one looks like a "walk in" and the garden is very nice.

  • Number 1 does look nicer in pics than when there - in needs kitchen and bathroom replacing and although i do like the garden it is on a big slant . I think number 2 is actully in better condition but prefer number 1 by far from the otside.

All I would say then is - you live on the inside.

Many's the time I have seen a lovely house only to be disappointed by the interior.
And conversely you can go into a basic looking house to discover hidden treasures within. Don't judge a book by its cover - as they say.

Personally I would go for the interior/garden/location that suits me and if it looks awful from the outside then so be it. Change it when you have some spare cash

  • Are you doing the work yourself, or paying others?
    Been away for a while.
  • For the replacement of windows and brick work i would pay others.

I thought that about the garden. Number 2 looks flat & 1 seemed slanted.

The kitchen in 1 did look like it needs replacing.

To be honest 1 looked like a do it up cheap to sell it sort of thing, laminate flooring ect.
But I really doubt it would cost 30k to do it up.
Are they the same houses but one has been tarted up?

Those windows that look so attractive on house 1, if the UPVC windows are good in house 2, all you gotta do is get someone in to change the front (& any sides visable from the front) glass for that style. Its what I'm going to do on mine.

Apart from the porch & bay window, they would cost most, the rest of it is a lick of paint & in light colours & laminate flooring to "look" good.
It does look good, but I don't think it cost much to achieve.

Buy 2, for 30k you can get your windows glass replaced, get the gardens done & get a decent kitchen in.

Yes they are the same house - amazing what changing the windows does and moving the doors isnt it !
I agree 1 has been done cheaply - you cant tell but the kitchen is AWFUL - tottaly falling to pieces and the hous ejust isnt worth what there asking but it looks so much prettier - wouldnt be at all fussed on either house if they wasnt in my favourite area.

They are completely different styles, from different periods of design/build.
If you stuck the window from [1] onto [2] it'd make you look like a !!!!!.

    Waste of money.

Buy number 1. Or walk from number 2.

It'll look sh1te and you'll never be happy with it and it will niggle at you as you will feel you wasted your money.

    :)
