Some are very deceitful, I've seen a few YouTube videos where they don't identify themselves.

Say nothing or say you're not interested and close the door.

I cancelled my TV Licence back in March 2020 as we were barely watching any TV let alone live TV! Its Netflix and Disney plus for us. However, we had the first threatening letter this week, stating TV licenecing have written to you 5 times' Urm no they haven't and pay your fee! I have all of my emails to confirm the deletion in March, even though it was in my husbands name, he then had to email them, my email and TV code were useless! The money was coming out of our joint account, so had both names on that. Called TV licencing whcich sates before being put through to be respectful to its staff! Shame the TV licence is not so respectful  to the punter, in the threatening letters it sends out! I was pleasent but said I was fuming and will be respectful but I was very unhappy, I did ask where the other letter were as nothing had been received, she changed the subject. The woman agreed to stop the letters (but she said we might have another one and to ignore it). She stated a letter would come out within 10 days to confirm our conversation and that as long as no live Tv was being watched including IPlayer, we were fine for the next couple of years. So I will wait and see. I wonder how many people just pay up....because my DH wanted to just to avoid the letters....he sits on pistonheads forum most nights, so again no need for TV, when you have other boring men to talk about cars with! lol
