Tax considerations if working abroad but being paid in UK

Hello, I wanted to get some advice. I recently got a job with a UK company but am working out of an office in an African country, earning in pounds into a pound denominated account at a local bank. However, sending money to UK account has been a faff and I'm starting to wonder if I wouldn't be better off getting my salary paid into my UK domiciled bank account. However, I don't want to run into any issues with HMRC. Does anyone know if there are tax implications for working and earning abroad but being paid into a UK account. Important to note, I don't currently pay any taxes on the money I earn in the foreign country. Any advice or help welcome!

Taxation liabilities tend to be driven by where you live rather than where your bank happens to be, so being paid into a UK bank instead of a local one doesn't change anything, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be paying any tax in the first place!0

Put some money aside, in case they claim unpaid taxes. You should check how work taxes apply to you in the country you are living in case you have to calculate and process yourself.0
