Hi everyone,
Check you go bagpuss with your sinking funds in place for car expenses... 👍 All my expenses are due at the end of the year and I've got all the money there waiting so I've moved all my targets along to 2022 so I can start saving up for December 2022 already. Rock and roll 🤣
Sounds lovely and chilled jade!
EH - Definitely need a meal plan... Have got an online shop coming on Saturday so need to sort this tonight. Thank you for the bum kick!!7 -
Bagpuss well done on your car service budget - makes such a difference doesn't it! La_es you're welcome - I'll probably be needing someone to bum-kick me in return at some stage, meal planning is something that I do for a while then fall off the wagon!
Jade your curry lunch sounds lovely - My boss had a thai red curry ready meal for his lunch yesterday and gave me a bit to try - very yummy and surprisingly not *too* spicy!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Phew, just moved a double load of logs (OH did some as well, but I ended up doing most). Hopefully that will make up for the recent biscuit consumptionAlso walked dog and cleaned up the kitchen using hot water from the stove kettles, kept in flasks overnight, and made jacket potatoes with cheese and leftover coleslaw for lunch.Not planning much else to be honest - dinner will be pesto pasta - I have taken pesto out of the freezer.I might make a lemon drizzle cake, as DS is coming round tomorrow to pick something up.And I will definitely put the winter duvet on the bed - it was chilly last night, even with a patchwork cover thing over top of the summer duvet.No heating, though we will light the stove later. Not so cold today (or maybe shifting all that wood warmed me up
)

Evening all,
So I got some good news! I've got 3K from my grandads house (taken 14 months to sort!!!) and It's also payday for Sainsburys on the 19th, cut off for overtime and shifts are the week before payday so the 13th, I've managed to do 28 hours total last week, 27 this week and I'm in for 2 extra days next week so payday should be good! I don't want to rush to spend all the money and pay bills so I plan on paying Barclaycard in full as that's the only one with interest. Then thinking where to go next. I plan on using some money to fix my car and getting a tattoo of my tommy (cat who passed 2 months ago now) so I'll always remember him and my grandad would of technically paid for it!
So, got a lot of thinking to do and budgeting!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Ahh that’s good news Jade, sad that you lost your Grandad of course but lovely that he was looking out for you. Definitely set aside some of the money to put into something to keep, and treasure long term too, I agree.Using money of this sort to clear debt is something that we see folk doing a lot on here - they are also often the same people we then subsequently see back again with spends having built up on cards again as not having gone through the “full process” they’ve not quite “got it” to the same extent as someone who has paid the lot off through sheer hard work. Not saying you would fall into that camp, but it’s certainly food for thought!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
