Evening all,
Not much going on this evening, I wasnt feeling overly hungry this evening so my OH ended up with boring smileys and dippers for his tea. How lucky
I ended up with chilli that I had frozen a while ago with some cheese on top! Yummy! I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Hi everyone
Not much to report from me (due to latest heart attack and slow recovery) but DH and DS are keeping up the DFW faith and my "small things" over the years have obviously rubbed off, so between us all we have
Checked Bank and made PAD
Swagbucks
Sorted mail as it arrived
Re-shared referral codes
Entered a couple of comps
DH returned my library books when he went to gym
DH stripped beds, washed and hung on line
DH re-made beds and vacuumed upstairs
Packed lunch for DS
All meals from fridge/freezer/cupboards
Ordered a Christmas pressie through TCB
Night all xx

Haha Jade - can't beat a convenient "beige plate" sometimes! Ziggy hope you are feeling better now and on the road to full recovery. Great that the DFW'ness has permeated through the family now so everyone is on the same page!
Flipping COLD here this morning - it was 2 degrees C when we got into the car and we had to scrape the screen - Brrr! Remembered my full gloves for the bike though so that was a plus. Other stuff for today:
- Remembered to bring a jacket into the office for lunchtime walks on days I'm cycling - my reflective cycling jacket is great, but NOT warm!
- Checked meal plan - Jackets, beans & cheese tonight so an easy win there
- Checked overnight electric use - 87p - WM, Dehumidifier, 1 x Storage heater, Hot water. That'll do!
- Turned storage heater up a degree
- reset storage heater to account for MrEH being in the office two more days this week.
- Reminded MrEH about resetting the timer on the towel rail
- Checked banking - all good
- will start to look at next week's meal-plan this evening I think, including what we're expecting in the veg box
- Shopping list off the back of the meal plan
We discussed putting the second storage heater on ready for tonight, but have decided to leave things as they are for a few days currently just using the oil filled rad to top up in the evenings if needed - we're both out the next two days anyway so it makes sense to revisit the need of it later in the week and see how things are then.

I agree about the weather, it was 1 degree at 3am!! I've been sat in thermals 3 jumpers and a coat in work as we don't have heating in the warehouse and that's where the majority of my job is based!

Today I have/will:
1. Checked online banking
2. Took my brothers dog to pets at home to spoil him, called in park on way home, he's now napping
3. Meals from stores
4. Have to take my other brother to work at 22.30 as he's crashed his car and the buses are on strike. A taxi costs £28 one way so sisters taxi is cheaper
5. Ironing
6. Duolingo Welsh

Afternoon folks!
Sory for being AWOL for a few weeks. Nothing much just RL, not much to report and a case of the meh's. Hopefully all of those things are calming down slightly now! The big news chez Fanta is that my in-laws all got Covid. M-i-l is ok, mostly recovered now. Niece is ok but has lost taste and smell and is being dramatic about it (much like her uncle was
), b-i-l is pretty ropey, high temp and sleeping a lot (he's on the vulnerable list). He's now passed it to s-i-l.
We seem to have avoided a dose despite being around niece and b-i-l just prior to the getting sick. Jabs and previous illness obviously doing their job.
Can also report sudden dip in temperature here too. House down to 16.5 deg today, although the new windows mean it's a lot less draughty than it was so it doesn't feel as cold at the same temperature IYSWIM. I'm WFH today but I'm taking a leaf out of @foxgloves book and refuing to put the heating on til 5. I have plenty of layers and can grab a hot water bottle if needed.
So, small things:
B/L/D from stores
Log cals in free app
Shut ALL curtains as soo as it gets dark (I'm bad for not doing the upstairs ones)
Possibly some knitting. Should work on Christmas presents but cba
Heating off til 5
OH working
Walked up to the allotment to get some exercise and sunshine. Picked a bag of apples while there and made a plan for when we go on Sunday
Picked up OH's prescription
Have a good one all

Evening all
I've got the mehs today too @carrielovesfanta. Hope your rellies are better soon.Got a confusing letter from the surgery about a referral that the doctor has apparently discussed with me - but they haven't
Linked to my long term condition (one that sounds really serious but hasn't actually caused me many problems so far), but I am not sure if I have been re-referred because it has got worse (had a blood test on Monday), or if they have forgotten / not checked my notes and don't realise that I have been referred previously (if that makes sense ??) Nice receptionist I spoke to on the phone didn't know either, but will leave a message for the doctor in question when he is in tomorrow. That threw me a bit, so I am ashamed to say that I haven't done much at all today.Walked dogCleaned the bath, basin and loo in the main bathroomWent to the garden centre and bought compost and chicken manure pelletsBought a new shower / bath non slip mat thing online as my current one is disintegrating and leaving bits of itself on the surface of the bath (all glamour here
) Renewed car breakdown cover. Its MOT is due next week, and insurance at the end of the month, so a spendy month!Sold a small item, £10 better off, and a bit less clutterListed some items on freecycle, and offered some lurking camper van equipment to DS (we sadly parted with our much loved old camper van earlier this year, as we just haven't used it enough to warrant keeping it, due to covid, lockdowns etc
)Some tedious bank password setting up stuffLeftover shepherds pie for dinnerWashed up in the sink with free hot water from the stove kettles instead of using the dishwasherHad the heating on for about an hour at lunchtime as it was really cold. My fault for sitting about eating biscuits instead of bustling about getting on with stuff! Lit stove instead mid afternoon, earlier than usual. Refilled kettles as hot water used for cuppas / washing up. I will put any unused hot water into flasks for the morning, before we go to bed.4 -
Oh CLF that's rough on your inlaws - hopefully you'll continue to escape. Absolutely get the appreciation for new windows too - we had all ours replaced a couple of years back replacing the previous ones which had more blown panels than good ones - the difference was incredible!
Dawn I'm not surprised that letter threw you - especially as you couldn't just get an answer straight away - I hope they get back to you nice and promptly today with reassurance. Our car stuff tends to come in one go as well - 2 x breakdown cover and 2 x insurance in one month, and MrEH's MoT & service will now be in that little cluster as well. As for "you didn't do much yesterday" have you read back through that list?! that looks like a good amount to me!
Today will be a quieter one for me - my last day of the week in work as I don't work Fridays (hurrah!) so I tend to treat Thursday evenings as the start of my weekend.
- Banking checked on the way in this morning - all good.
- Parked up early enough to do a slightly longer route to the office - only an extra mile but it all helps!
- Phone now on charge from my PC - Garmin will get done later too
- Meal plan was done last night
- Bathed before bed last night using existing heated water from the tank
- Shopping list needs to be done today
Less good news is that the bathroom heated towel rail didn't feel as warm this morning as we expected. it *might* just be that it wasn't on for long enough to get properly hot - it does take a while, so I've increased it's run-time for another hour and we'll see how it feels tomorrow. It'll be annoying if the element is going through as it's not that old.
Heating is now starting to make a difference with the temperature creeping up. Used the oil filled rad last night again, and will likely do the same tonight although I've remembered to leave the front room door wide open today so it should get the benefit of heat from the hallway where the currently on heater is. Curtains mostly left closed as little chance of sunshine today.
Have a lovely Thursday all!

Hi gang,
Finally starting to feel a bit better. Managed to get to my tap class last night so that is a good sign that I'm on the road to recovery.😊
Ziggy - hope you're taking it easy after your latest hospital visit. Big hugs!!
Not really got much to report as I'm generally being bad at managing my money these days!! At that generally disorganised state when spending money is the only way to get around things, do you know what I mean?! Not organised with shopping so we get take aways... Can't find something I know is in the house so I buy it again... 😬 On a mission to get organised!!
Catch up soon - got a meeting now...6 -
La_es absolutely know what you mean, and have certainly been there ourselves in the past too. Can you look to tackle one thing at a time to start reining things back - maybe start with a meal plan, and shopping list, and other stuff might follow on from there? I know when I'm in control of the food stuff everything else MSE does seem to flow from that!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
