Funeral to attend tomorrow, daughter testing positive

I work in a vaccine centre and we have the same rules. If someone in your household has covid you can’t go into work.Kat78MFW said:If she worked for the NHS, she would have to stay off work. My daughter tested positive and, even though I'm double jabbed, our NHS workforce rules were that I must stay off work for 10 days due to a positive case in the household. And the rules proved correct as I tested positive four days later. If another member of staff goes down with covid, you can still work and don’t have to isolate, even if you were stationed next to them for a long time.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. All that says is that if someone in your household or a recent contact tests positive you should isolate until you get the results of a PCR test, it doesn’t say isolate for 10 days regardless.nyermen said:Can't see a mention - what region of UK? I think in Wales they've just changed the rules now that you should self-isolate and PCR even if double jabbed (https://gov.wales/self-isolation#section-83759). Or maybe its that they're about to make them harsher (isolate regardless), i seem to recall Drayford saying something or other about it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It would be good to know what the neighbour did.1

Saw her this morning and she went. She consulted with the family and they agreed that she would attend the service but sat at the back of the chapel and wore a mask and made sure she stayed apart from the other guests. She went in last and came out last . She did a LFT before going and still tested negative. She didnt attend the wake afterwards. There was no option to view it online and she really wanted to say her goodbyes. I know some wont agree with her going but she did as much as was possible to negate risk to others.7

Thanks for updating us.
FWIW I totally do agree.
Other parts of our lives including mental health are important too so we have to strike a balance and she did exactly what I would have done.
We will never all agree on it, but it's clear she didn't act without thought or consulting others.4 -
I completely agree too. OP's neighbour has done nothing short of what I'd have done in this situation, especially given the LFT, sitting separately and not attending the 'social' part.lisyloo said:Thanks for updating us.
