Esso App Warning

Has this happened to anyone out there ?
On the 9th August this year I filled up at my local Esso Station at Burnley Barracks. I opened the app, selected the pump and was requested to authorise payment. When I had finished I checked my mobile and saw that the app had timed out !! and it instructed me to pay at the kiosk.I went to the cashier only to be told"Your payment has been made" I showed him my mobile but he stated that despite this the app had connected my transaction to the payment system. This seemed odd so before leaving I took a picture of the pump and went to work.

Later that morning I checked my e-mails only to see that TWO payments had been made.My own and a second SIX MINUTES after I had left.
The APP had maintained the connection between the pump and my account.
I have two receipts showing this and despite numerouse contact, e-mails and copies of receipte being sent I still have not been refunded and to top things off, Esso customer service now say they have forwaded the matter to the company running the station -- 13 weeks late.
Be very carefull with these apps and check your statments.

It seems checking your statements is irrelevant given you're 2 x your fillup down and 13 weeks on and were not alerted to the overcharge by looking at your statement.
  • You are allerted to a pending transaction which will not clear - I have had to go into Branch to have the transaction removed.  It may have been more relevant to state " Check your e-mail alerts from Esso"  But other than that I do not see how your comment is helpfull or constructive
