First child passport issue

Just a quick update. So I tried 2 things. I emailed their complaints department (haven’t had a reply yet) and also started a case on Resolver. Two days after I sent off the complaint on Resolver the application status online went back to “application is being processed” from “photo rejected”. It has been like that for almost 2 weeks now so hopefully they have now accepted 1 of the digital photos or the hard copy and are processing the passport.I wasn’t in urgent need of the passport but it was just part of my “to do list” since my daughter was born. Like I said previously, I would happily pay the fee again and start over with a paper application and send off hard copies of the photos, but they still have the birth certificate. I have tried looking for the option to cancel when I log in but there isn’t anything there. Will let you know if I hear anything back.Thanks3

Your application has probably been transferred from the digital system to the being examined by an examiner in the office, because you submitted physical photos. It will have gone back into the queue and will be examined by someone in the office. If you are not in any hurry, please be patient. The passport should be ready soon as staff are working 7 days to cope with the influx of applications.CashMoney said:Just a quick update. So I tried 2 things. Good news! Passport arrived today! I’m guessing the birth certificate will arrive separately?2

Thanks for reporting back @CashMoney that is good news- yes the ID documents are sent separately ( just in case they fall into the wrong hands during delivery and someone dodgy gets all your Identity documents ).How long did it take in all ?0

Well it took way longer because of the photo issues. I first sent off the application on 13th September so over 2 months but then I had photos rejected 3 times which probably added on a fair few weeks.1

Yes. Your passport is sent directly from the central print and your documents are sent from the issuing office. The only time they would come together is if the passport was printed at the local office. Your documents may take a while due to staff shortages and influx of workCashMoney said:Good news!
