Hi All! I need some help on quite a strange matter! I’ve signed up to eharmony dating. I wanted to try it for a month, but the minimum contract is 3 months. I read the t&cs and because we are luckily enough to be in the UK we get a 14 day cooling off period. After 24 hours on the site, I decided it wasn’t for me and requested a cancellation. Unfortunately, I’ve somehow managed to sign up to the US domain and they are saying I can’t have a refund as their rules are different. I’ve asked for it to be escalated and I’m getting nowhere. All communication is via email and it’s like talking to a brick wall, standard templated answers.
Does anyone know what I can do here. I’ve no idea how I’ve registered for the US site, I log in through the UK domain. If I refuse to pay, what are the implications? Any help appreciated.
Jenny

Just to add on to this…they’ve now said the matter is closed and are not replying to any further emails.0

Try your card provider. Tell them eharmony are refusing to engage any further.1

If you've signed up to a US contract then your rights are going to be those of the relevant state. There's generally only knowledge about UK rights here.1

Two points: 1) cancelling your card won't stop the payment - just in case you are thinking of trying it 2) even had you signed up to the UK site the "14 day cooling off period" does not mean "try it for 14 days without paying" - you would have had 14 days in which to cancel the contract, but only if the service hadn't been started, and you admit that you used it.1 -
My payment was via PayPal. Not sure if that makes any difference?
there is a clause that says they can take reasonable payment for use in the first 14 days and I’m fine for that. It’s the other £180 I would like not to pay.0 -

And the reason for me wanting to cancel is that there are no matches within an hour of where I live, just completely impractical.0

Perhaps you're too picky, "Deleted User"?
Relax your criteria a bit. Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs...1 -
