Hi, My daughter filled out a pip claim and recieved a letter ststing she would have a phone call at 09:30 25th October 2021. She had no call at 10:30 she contacted asos to be told the assessor had decided to not work today, the operator said if she would like to wait in she would see what she could do my daughter said she had been up since 07:30 waiting for the call and she had a diabetic eye check at the hospital (12:15), she suffers from anxiety , panic attacks and ocd , she started to cry and got very upset, she put the phone down( actually aimed it across the room). An operator called at 11::00 asking to arrange another appointment to which my daughter said no.I dont know what to do next i am 70 still at work ( keep the finances going) if i retire financially we will be struggling. Any suggestions. Chris

If she doesn't arrange another appointment then her application will failI suggest that she needs to contact them promptly.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

She does need to arrange another appointment because most people have to have either telephone or face to face assessments. Paper based ones are rare.

Usually there is a call handler who will keep claimants up to date with what's happening, so someone should have called to keep you up dated. Eg if your booked for 13:30 and the assessor is running late the call handler will contact you to advise of the delay, if that then doesn't suit you then its a re-schedule. (I know this is not the case here - but for some background info)
The assessor may have been sick, or may have left the company, which means short notice its difficult to get a replacement assessor. If a claimant doesn't answer then rather than have an assessor doing nothing they will bounce another claimant to them) Which is the beauty of telephone assessments. Your assessor can be anywhere within the area of that business coverage.
However, yes she is going to need to reschedule because without the assessment there is no claim.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
