sleeping on offer overnight-what does that mean?

Options
i've been posting on here all week about making on offers and generally about being confused as a ftb who has never done all this before. put an offer in late on today, about ten past 4, its about 6percent off asking price but its all we can afford. the ea got back to us about 5ish and said he had spoken with the vendor and that she wanted to talk it over with her husband tonight and get back to us tomorrow. i am now totally hyper and far too excited and i was just wondering what everyone would think this means? i'm thinking its a good sign and that we have a chance of them accepting?
any input might help me sleep tonight!!!:j

  • OK - I'll bite.

If it helps you to sleep then, yes - this is a good sign.

Frankly though, we're not mind-readers so who knows what it means? :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • If you can't sleep, why not start packing just in case...

If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

It's good your offer is being taken seriously, but from memory don't expect much sleep. The next time you'll feel this nervous is just before exchange.
    Been away for a while.

It's quite simple. Two people have to agree before your offer can be accepted. They need time. If they accept without thinking, it will all go wrong anyway, cos then they'll pull out once they HAVE thought about it. There's no huge urgency. The house isn't going anywhere else. There isn't likely to be anyone else who wants it, whatever the EA says. Just sit tight and sleep knowing it's out of your hands for a bit.

It's a bit less than they really wanted, but.... worth considering. It will all work out for the best.

If i were selling at the moment i would treat your offer in exactly the same way.
If they accepted immediately in the back of your mind you may have thought "Wonder if they'd have accepted a lower offer?"
By taking time to accept or counter offer there's proably more chance of you not gazundering or maybe i'm looking into this all too seriously and maybe they are just thinking about it this evening over the liverpool match ?:rotfl:
