Speed of transfer is an issue for Eon taking Symbio but I suspect it's more a problem with the other ones they've also taken as Symbio are pretty smallUltrasonic said:

Have a guess.wittynamegoeshere said:
Can they start taking our money before they've repaid/credited what Symbio owed?
They can do what Shell have started doing (for some), and use 'estimates' for closing/opening meter readings.1 -
Interesting that E.on had requested a meter read as have Symbio for the transfer date which I entered so they should have that data correctly. Having seen the back end of some apparently smooth looking websites I can well imagine that the behind the scenes could be a challenge to unpick! As I mentioned above I suspect it's more an issue that the other transfers are higher priority than Symbio as it was so much smaller and I'd expect them to prioritise the largest number of customers for billing.wittynamegoeshere said:Are they under any kind of time limit for sorting things out? Perhaps Ofgem just hopes that their obvious financial motive will encourage them enough, at the moment they're supposedly our supplier but I'm paying them absolutely nothing. Can they start taking our money before they've repaid/credited what Symbio owed?I would imagine that they're probably trying to find their way around Symbio's database, which is probably home-made. Their website was pretty weird and amateurish, I guess it's probably no better behind the scenes.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
How fast is needed or expected though? It seems far too early to be able to conclude there is a problem re. Symbio to me.jimjames said:

Previous experience before the current crisis was for SOLR transfers to take many months wasn't it?

I agree, it has been six weeks since they went bust, and given the volume of work with so many customers of different companies in the same boat it is bound to be a slightly slower process than normal. It's also unlikely that many customers will want to move on very quickly in the present circumstances.Ultrasonic said:

I’m sure it didn’t say that before. Anyway, shouldn’t they do the same here?0
