Savings account

Can anyone please help?
I have authorised a payment but cancelled it within seconds (for a hotel) hotel said as per policy they will continue to take money. It’s £800 in total, I have paid £300. I have offered to pay in in parts but no one is getting back to me. Booking.com have asked them to waiver but they said no.
Anyways my question is, if I move money from my account to my savings account can they take from my savings account? It has the same sort code?
Any help appreciated

No, but you'll either go overdrawn on your current account or end up with additional charges.

It'll be cheaper to make sure the money is in your account for when each payment is due.
  • Okay thanks. They have not tried to take it yet.  I am hoping all my emails and request for them to accept small amounts will work.

Seems a very unreasonable hotel, if truly cancelled within seconds.

Care to name and shame so we can all avoid them?
  • I am still desperately trying to negotiate with them but they are avoiding social media, emails and phone calls. Booking.com where very understanding but they just couldn’t help. They have taken one payment- which is okay I suppose but I have explained my situation so many time I just don’t have that sort of money and I won’t be using the booking. I have screenshots of the booking and the cancellation and then everything I have sent begging for a payment plan. It’s really be awful. All they say is there is nothing we can do. But they can.. they can stop future payment surely.
  • Also I don’t know when the money is due? It says they can take it any time.

They can, but that's not the issue. What are the terms of the booking?
  • That the full amount can be taken any time
  • This is the policy

It's unclear what you want to achieve here. Are you planning on going or not?
If you are going but would like to spread the payments is a completely different problem to the one where you don't intend to go.

  • I have cancelled, I cancelled within minutes. I made a mistake in booking. They are charging me anyway.
