Will other countries ban UK flights?

If COVID cases rise to 100,00 per day in UK as Savid Javid warned this week
- what are the chances that other countries will ban UK flights like Morocco has ? How quickly could they do this ?

They have already started doing that. It's likely more will follow with close to a quarter of world wide infections being in the UK.

It's possible, but many countries are now banking on their own vaccination programmes to protect their citizens, and with easier testing on arrivals, that should cover most.

I suspect any country with good vaccination percentages won't do anything until there's a new variant which they need to keep out - potentially just enforce PCR tests before travel if they don't already.

Not to mention, actually our cases have dropped 2k a day the last 2 days... let's hope that carries on for a while!

    Reported cases.

Most countries are massively underreporting their cases, as they don't have the testing infrastructure to test anywhere near as many people as we're testing.

Nah, their death numbers match their reported cases. If they were under-reporting there would be an unexplained high death rate.

The UK is basically plague island at this point, and even the government is saying it could hit 100,000 infections/day. Given their track record it's likely to be worse than that and I can see the UK being kept on red lists for some time to come.

Besides, judging by the number of people who refuse to wear a mask, many Brits won't want to travel to countries where it's mandatory anyway.

Yes, because they're underreporting their deaths too.

Plague island?  Jesus, overreact much?  Where are the dead bodies piling up in the streets?  The death rates in the past 7 days were 1.2 per 100,000.  1.2, and that's somehow a "plague"?

Until there's sufficient data to calculate excess deaths. The jury will remain out and this will be for a while. Russia is a good example.

They can't under-report their deaths. If deaths are not registered it causes all sorts of problems, as well as being illegal. Can't start the process of taking control of bank accounts, getting things cancelled and distributing any inheritance, for example.

If they were not putting COVID as the cause there would be an unexplained high mortality rate compared to other years.

Countries like France, Germany and Italy have checks in place to prevent this kind of fraud. The UK does too, which is why when our government limited the numbers to deaths within 28 days we could still see the true figures. And in any case the UK numbers, even after being fiddled, are multiples of our peer's numbers.

    As for bodies piling up...

    "Let the bodies pile high"
    - Boris Johnson

Herd immunity is the current policy, which necessarily involves a lot of people dying.

The government are hoping that escalating numbers of infection will persuade more people to get vaccinated.

By now you'd have thought that people would have realised that Covid isn't just going to suddenly disappear.

It practically has in other countries. It's just the UK where COVID is raging unrestrained.
