Just as well not everyone holds that view or the Country would grind to a standstill !!MobileSaver said:Butts said:
You'd better not get on a Train or a Bus then either or even go to the Supermarket ?Bradden said:
I agree... that's why I've chosen not to fly... and whilst a mask may not stop transmisison it will reduce the risk - so why not wear one?mattyprice4004 said:
If you’re that worried, flying probably isn’t a good idea right now.Bradden said:
I hope not.. imagine sitting next to someone with Covid for several hours. You can "nurse" drinks for a good while and remain mask less for virtually the whole Flight if you play your cards right.
Being in that close proximity I doubt a mask would be enough to stop transmissionAgreed, I wouldn't dream of getting on a train or bus while the risk is still so great.Your supermarket comparison is just ridiculous but not surprising from someone who thinks it's so clever to blatantly flout the rules.
I've been travelling on Planes,Trains the odd Bus and even a few Boats from Day 1 and am still here to tell the tale.
Which rules have I blatantly flouted ?0 -
Good for you. You may not have flouted any rules. But you may have inadvertently spread coronavirus. Some people don't actually get it but they are carriers and spread it. The virus is still with us and will be for a while yet. Numbers of people contracting it are still rising and the government is being asked to consider putting some strict measures in place again.Butts said:

It's foolish to think that the virus has gone and it won't affect you. I hope it doesn't. But there is no safeguard right now. Putting yourself out there, mixing with people who may or may not be double vaccinated, just doesn't seem very wise for some of us. We don't want to get it. You don't care. But mocking those who have preferred not to go out and about since day 1 doesn't serve any purpose at all. Nor is it clever. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. We're moving to an endemic phase which is likely to last broadly forever. I used to be more like you and whilst most everyone else was wearing simple blue masks, I always wore ffp2 or 3 masks and was rigorous in being aware of what I'd touched and when my hands were last cleaned etc. I'd never go to supermarkets and deliveries I'd wipe down or leave "quarantined" for a period. It was fairly easy to do as for several weeks at a time I've been away from my family at home. Larger households will struggle and having kids makes it all the more difficult.MalMonroe said:

I'm starting to come to the view that continuing to hibernate is barely living life. So given I've been double vaxed and soon to be triple, I've decided to broadly continue as normal although I do try quite hard to social distance and when I fly I wear a particularly high quality mask. I would have no objection to going back to mask wearing generally inside but am not currently doing so as most others are not which partially defeats the point.
I don't think Butts was mocking anyone but I do think it is reasonable to recognise that different people have very different attitudes to risk and it should be respected both ways.0 -
So - it's a lateral flow test (with evidence) to get into the USA and a lateral flow test on day two when we retiurn - correct???
