    Declaring at £607.88/£500 for November.

As it was the first month of tracking everything in nearly 8 years the £500 really was a guestimate and I thought I was on track at £492.51 until DH pulled a wad of receipts out of his wallet - hey ho.

On the positive side it's helped highlight some areas we can make savings.

My plan for November was to shop less, as in go to the shops less and change up what we were eating.

Glad to say both of the above happened, less meat too which I am pleased about but spent more than budgeted.  Sticking with the budget this month even though it’s a weird one and will see how we fare for January. Enjoyed being a week behind today so I could catch up.

Glad you’re okay @elsiepac sorry to hear you were unwell

    Good evening All

I have totally lost the plot this month.  I know what's left in the grocery purse £20.90, so I can work out what we spent, but I've lost track of where and how much.  (To add to it, I've just lost the post I was writing.  GRRRRRRR)

I'm declaring at £138.10/£159, leaving £20.90 to roll forward to December.

Part of why I'm so far behind is that my beloved iPAD Mini is dying and that is what I use for tracking.  It was a present for my 50th birthday, back in 2015, so it's served me well.  I've bought a replacement but that doesn't play nicely with the cover-and-keyboard that I've been using - the magnets are in the wrong places - so I purchased a replacement cover-and-keyboard from a different manufacturer.  The cover is fine; the keyboard is rubbish.  I'm a touch typist and can't type on it.

Hope everyone is well.  Now to catch up.

    - Pip

PS:  @elsiepac Sorry to hear you've been ill.

Declaring within budget, just, which is quite surprising in one way, away every weekend, but, I do contribute in shopping, so swings and roundabouts.

Do I need it or just want it.
  • I can't remember when I last posted, but I came in under budget this month; so having no bulk buys and only nipping to the shops when absolutely essential has helped.
I hadn't been counting in previous bulk buys, as and when they were used. So think that makes all the difference as well, rather than a massive total when purchased.

My month ended on the 25th of Nov. So off to December thread now.

GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £76.30/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. One person vegan household with occasional visitors)

    £245.99/£240.
    £5.99 over.

Hoping that is it but I won't declare until the end of the month.
Yay, we didn't spend any more after that post so can declare November at £245.99, so £5.99 over which isn't too bad.

Hope you are better now elsiepac, be kind to yourself.

Off to the December thread now.
