£56.70 spent between A&C and Mr S.
The Mr S had a load of freezer and cupboard items that we were out of and are core items and/or items we like to have on hand instead of buying a takeaway. I was happy that OH managed to find a reduced vegan pizza I could have for £1.99. A bit pricey but still cheaper than a takeaway pizza that I can have when I'm unable to do anything and the OH can't be bothered to cook.
The best reduction was 500g of leeks for just 24p. Ah leek and potato soup will be nice for lunch during the week.
OH will be doing a L!do shop on Friday for frozen sweetcorn, frozen peas and other items that are much cheaper for the same item elsewhere.
£133.48/£240.
£106.52 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -
Week 1 total was £148.68 - split between L!dl, C0stco, Company Shop & Rogers (a past BB warehouse).Needed to restock our laundry powder. C0stco do a tub that lasts us a year for £16.79 which is included in the total. Not many YS to be seen but did manage to get a few freebies via Olio which was a bonus.DD1 (19) gets in from work 3-4am so we only really see her on days off. If I don't tell her which food in the fridge is earmarked I'll get up in a morning to find it's been eaten during the night
I can't imagine I'm alone in this
£146.68/£500 = £353.32 remaining6 -
@JingsMyBucket - these apples do taste very like Bramley's so I stew most of them to freeze in 1kg yoghurt tubs and eat them for breakfast until January usually. I do also like the odd one peeled and quartered to munch on during the day.
I managed another NSD today but will have to lash out for some pistachio nuts and chocolate tomorrow so that I can make some of this fudge for Wednesday Chocolate Pistachio Fudge | Nigella's Recipes | Nigella Lawson. It looks lovely and easy to make and I've got the condensed milk, butter, sugar, salt and all but 50g of the chocolate so it shouldn't cost too much to make a batch as a first try of the recipe. If it turns out well I'm planning to make some to give as Christmas presents so wish me luck.7 -
Another £10.30 gone today at W8rose; greek yogurt was on special offer, with a long date, so I got two, plus a few bits needed for tonight's (leftovers) curry. Sigh - it's fairly galloping out of my pockets this month.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

£4.07 today on cheese (which is why I went in the shop) and then my usual weakness of not being able to resist YS bargains kicked in and I bought a pie, a ready meal and 2 desserts.
£150.50/£200.5 -
Oh dear I am not doing to well with the GC this month.Spent £9.34 at A$da stocking up on GF bread, pasta and lasagne sheets.I’ve added £15 to the budget that I had earmarked for the last bit of 0% CC debt I have just cleared by selling my car. I got some insurance refunds and charges for changing the policy. Annoying but food was more urgent!
budget now remaining is £34.87.5 -
I know I am a bit late to the party but could I join please?
I haven't been on the site for a couple of years but I've come back 😄
Last month I gave up a full time job that made me extremely depressed. I've managed to get a little part time job but need to be careful with my spending!I have decided to spend this month clearing both freezers in preparation for Christmas. My issue is I can't say no to a ys item 😉
Budget for this month is £200.Spends so far £31.97
February GC £26.68/£2506
