Car has 30,000 miles more than was advertised
I enquired about a car on A.C website and paid a £99 deposit to reserve the car. I have been in talks with the sales rep throughout the week regarding the newer car.
I was offered just over 7k trade in for my car and would be paying the rest in cash for the advertised car.
The advertised car is valued at £15k and was advertised as only having a mileage of just over 29k. I have received a digital copy of the order for trade in and sale of the new car. No money other than the deposit has been paid yet as the car is still not ready for collection.
The paperwork i received digitally has the mileage they originally advertised it at with 29k on the clock but 4 days after the car was originally advertised A.C changed the mileage on their website to 59,297 after seeing this i checked the video they sent me on the same day they advertised the car with 29k miles on it.
The mileage on the odometer in the video they sent me is 59,738 not 59,298 and certainly not 29,438.
What do i do and where do i stand regarding this, i still have an interest in the car but i'm disappointed that the car isn't exactly i was led to believe it was and would be willing to walk away if they could not give a better deal on the car.
The car is still a reasonable price when compared to the same make model with similar mileage.
My issue is that not only have i lost out on buying another car that is now sold because i thought i would be buying a better low mileage car that was advertised as only having 29k on it hence why i had so much interest as soon as i seen the advertisement.
I don't think legally i have any stance since no money has been parted but i would like to think A.C would acknowledge their mistake and offer a reduced price maybe even throw in extended warranty on a car that has 30k more miles than what was originally advertised and sale was agreed on.

I’d be amazed if it commits AC to anything more. If it commits the OP to anything more then he shouldn’t have signed it …..

They can't supply you with that car with 29k miles so any contract is frustrated and up for renegotiation1 -
Is the car a fair price at the higher mileage compared to other cars AC do?
If so it might have just been a typo on the website. The deposit is fully refundable and AC won't have done anything with it beyond noy selling it to someone else, so you can alwayd see what they'll offer and walk away if you're not happy.
They won't give you anything for the lost opportunity.1 -
How old is the car?No free lunch, and no free laptop1
