My initial statement was inaccurate and I think needs to be corrected at the top of this thread. If you read the whole thread you'll see that I have been properly and deservedly ticked-off. Nevertheless I did find a better tariff than the one that Eon Next will put me on, and I did switch before my Eon Next account has been set up.
This is what my original message said: The new Eon Next tarrif is around 35p per unit. You can do MUCH better by switching to one of the ten or so better deals that are out there.
I hope this helps someone save money.

That cannot be true as that would be above the Ofgem cap, I suspect you are looking at the tariffs offered to new customers, that will not be the one you will move onto...trumpeter_2 said:The new Eon Next tarrif is around 35p per unit. It certainly shouldn't be that, I've not received my info from Eon yet but that would be well above the price cap and therefore not allowed.trumpeter_2 said:The new Eon Next tarrif is around 35p per unit. You can do MUCH better by switching to one of the ten or so better deals that are out there.

Where did you find this info or was it a suggestion of a tariff you could move to?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
This is what I got in an e-mail yesterday from Symbio - https://www.eonnext.com/symbio-energy and if you root through it you can get a link to this - https://assets.ctfassets.net/gmgnreshss7h/6WrFfQKiuMYJ0YGRCpml5j/9e500c91845c5e72e94219d6bed47141/Next_Flex_Credit.pdf which is more like the sort of tariff that I'dexpect rather than a scare mongering 35p from someone who hasn't done their resaerch properly (or is an avid Daily Mail reader)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2

You are looking at one of the 2 year fix 'deals', not the deemed tariff.

The tariff ex-Symbio customers are being put on is Next Flex.

This is not new information. It has been known since very shortly after Eon were appointed as SOLR.0 -
By mistake or design the suggestion of a 35p per unit tariff is misinformation given to encourage people to switch away from E.on Next. Is this allowed under forum rules?Reed2

Yeh - I worry about this too. Not sure how many people read just the headline and first post, but if you make this far, please know OP is incorrect - you won't be paying 35p per unit. Your best option right now is to stick with E.on next over winter.Reed_Richards said:By mistake or design the suggestion of a 35p per unit tariff is misinformation given to encourage people to switch away from E.on Next. Thanks to matelodave and spot1034 for posting the actual tariffs that Eon Next will be charging. I'm sorry that I didn't find them. But, in my defence, the prices I mentioned were rounded and not attached to any region; my intention was to suggest that people might like to check the automatic tariff against the market rather than just go with it.
In my case I did find an offer that easily beat the price Eon Next is quoting. So I stand by the thrust of my original posting.
matelodave... I hadn't done my research properly; I don't read the Daily Mail ;-)
razord my best option (by about 20%) was to switch a bit sharpish. But I apologise to you and Reed_Richards and everyone else for exaggerating the savings to be made.1 -
Thanks for coming back with the update. Out of interest which tariff beats the price cap "easily"? I didn't think any suppliers were selling below that price?trumpeter_2 said:
