S O L V E D ....... MY ASDA mobile TOP-UP CARD WOES
I got a new ASDA mobile Pay as you go top-up card and registered it online with my phone.
- When the counter staff at the first Post Office swiped my card ready the top-up system rejected the card.
- Then they tried entering the 19 digit Pan No on the card but again the top-up system rejected the card.
- They suggested they sell me a top-up voucher but their system wouldn’t produce a top-up voucher.
When a second Post Office tried all of the above they were unsuccessful too.
I rang the ASDA mobile help line and they said it’s a network issue and reset the card and said it should work fine.
I went back to the first Post Office and they tried all
of the above again and once more were unsuccessful.
I have the ASDA £5 monthly bundle of unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 1 gigabyte of data.
Perhaps an answer is to transfer my number to another network, if they could offer a similar £5 monthly bundle.
I welcome any advice !

Ask Asda mobile customer service on 0808 006 2732 or 2732 (from your Asda mobile) whether they can do the top up for you, and, assuming you want to do so, set your bundles to automatically renew each month.

Using cash is the way I have to pay for my top ups.0

It may be worth checking with Asda mobile customer support whether getting a new top-up card may work.
The Asda mobile https://mobile.asda.com/support/topping-up page does say:
Please note: we are aware with some issues with a small number of our top-up cards. If your top-up card is faulty, please order another.1 -

If you are still having troubles I find the top up vouchers useful, not just from PO but over the counter in loads of corner shops, cash is fine and no need for cards, just buy a one off top voucher every time

you know you can top up a mobile phone at a cashpoint as if you were using it to withdraw cash from your bank account that may work?

Can I use vouchers on the new network?
and the help says:We do not sell top-up vouchers for our new network. And there is no mention of using anyone elses vouchers https://mobile.asda.com/support/topping-up

Hi
Like you I prefer to top-up using cash. It does not work at the PO or at another store displaying the top-up sign. They say they are aware that ASDA are still having problems since changing over to the Vodaphone network in September. I have already had a 2nd new card and 4 calls to customer services and a webchat but with no success - it's so frustrating.
I don't want to have to travel to the store (min 12 mile trip) to top-up, but this is the only place I've found the card works!
The vouchers are reported not to work either.
Looking to change my provider if I cannot get sorted this week.

My experience of Asda Mobile is such that I'd say everyone should avoid them.0
