SNAD or my fault

I purchased some self adhesive mirror tiles from EBay and when they arrived they were tiny. Checking back in the listing the size is stated but all the photos showed them as much larger. I realise I should have read the sizes but expected them to be as shown. In future I will check before purchasing but is this tough luck or dishonest trading?

I can't seem to cut and paste the link on my phone so have taken a screen shot. The tiles are 6cm high in reality.

I agree that the photo is misleading as those tiles are larger than 6cm (6 inches, maybe?).  If the size is specified, I don't know if that trumps the photo, and maybe a SNAD claim could be contested by the seller.

well to me they look about 4-5 inches each side this is based on a room height of say 8ft to judge by.

you'll probably win the case regardless, I list items exactly as they are yet still all it takes is the buyer to raise a claim for whatever reason and eBay will decide in the buyers favour and I lose out!
that photo is not of 6cm tiles either
  • @JuzaMum the size of the item is in the item specifics and in the description. The seller does sates in the description "Some pics look like larger size, please notice the exact items size" - but, sellers should be all too well clued up on the fact that many buyers purchase from the photos and also from their phones.

You could open a return for 'not as described' using the reason 'doesn't match the photos or description'. There is NO WAY that 8 of 6cm tiles would cover a wall like the photo - they are clearly larger tiles.

They are China based but shipping from Manchester so you'd only need to return to the UK.

That isn't my experience of selling, or buying on eBay. And the eBay guarantee should mean that nobody loses out, whether seller or buyer.

I’m sorry but I entirely disagree . The item specifics trump everything else, I would be amazed if buyer won this as any reputable seller would appeal instantly - I have won SNAD claims  automatically where my item specifics have been correct and buyer has been confused. Hopefully I don’t mislead, but I’ve won on colour where someone has a different monitor set up and claimed something showed say pink on their monitor and where I’ve stated red, I’ve also won a couple on size where buyer has thought the photo of a necklace, for instance, on a display hung longer than it actually did.

I would be miffed though if I were in the OPs situation and suggest that depending on price and return postage costs that a change of mind return is opened as if seller keeps getting these returned they might rethink their advertising. This is another example where it pays to read the whole thing, including description and item specifics as I understand in this instance seller even noted the photo was misleading.
