I've no idea if that's normal or not. I got my lease via solicitor but I don't see why you can't be sent it directly since you are the one buying the lease. It's a pretty important document for you to see, why would they delay you seeing it. They might not want all the questions about content of lease as they want you to direct them to solicitor but, all you want to do is read it!FataVerde said:
Nope, EA refuse to send it to me, just to the solicitor. It's unbelievable. So I told them my mortgage application will be delayed until my solicitor is back from vacation.bbat said:Were you sent a copy of the lease too? You could get a head start on questions to your solicitor if you have a copy to read now?

Yes, I also have no intention of starting my mortgage application until I see it. I need to know what I am buying! If any of my plans with the flat are impossible within the clauses of this lease, I'm out. Don't need to buy a half million trap tbh.bbat said:

So basically feudalism for the poor and ownership for the rich. The govt needs to bring property law in the 21st century.Slithery said:
Of course there is, you just need to buy the property outright instead of renting it on a lease.FataVerde said:Clearly there is no such thing as ownership in the UK.0
