247 curtains refuses to refund a price drop

Hi everyone, first post here, really need some advice in my recent purchase.

I ordered 3 made to measure curtains from 247 curtains on 2 Oct, total price was £831.91. A few days after my purchase, the product went on sale, and there is a 25% price drop, which means if I buy them now, I only need to pay £617.98. There is a £213.93 difference in total.

The sale ends on 17 Oct, and my curtains has been dispatched yesterday and will be delivered today.

I have done the following:
  • I emailed 247 curtains, no repsonse.
  • I called 247 curtains  they are only willing to refund £40. No voucher, discount code, free curtain options available.
  • I called my credit card bank, and they said I can make a dispute 15 days after the purchase, which is 17 Oct, the offer ends day. But they can't gurantee to get the refund back.
I understand that the seller doesn't have to accept returns and refunds for made to measure items, and I also understand that the buyer could return any item bought online with 14 days.

Now, what should I do at this stage?

Thank you all!

What sort of "dispute" do you think you have? You agreed a price.

    Enjoy your new curtains.

Be wary of making a fraudulent chargeback through your credit card.

You are lucky to be offered £40. The seller is not obliged to allow returns for made to measure items. Nor are they obliged to let you take advantage of a new price once you have agreed to buy at the original price.

Take the £40 and consider yourself fortunate to have £40 more than you strictly deserve as well as some nice new curtains!
  • @kevinwang, you are getting what you were happy to pay for when you ordered.

Accept the £40, it is quite a nice gesture by the retailer.

    Agree with others above.

To use the old cliché argument ... if the price had gone up would you be offering them the extra difference? No? Then why do you think you're entitled to the lower price when you'd already agreed to the contract?

Nothing.  You agreed a price you were happy with, and paid it.  The end.

Exactly that.  There is no entitlement to a price reduction if an item goes into a sale AFTER you have purchased it.  The £40 offer is a very generous one on the part of the vendor.
  • Thank you all for the advice. I understand that I agreed for the price. But the product went a sale only a few days after my purchase, and the discount is a huge 25%. That's what I'm not happy with.
  • That's life @kevinwang !

Tesco put my favourite biscuits in their Clubcard Prices last week at a 50% discount just after I had purchased a packet at full price.

I cried into my coffee for days, LOL

As above, if someone put the price of the curtains up by 25% would you phone the company & offer to pay the difference?
