How do I get a new line into the house?

We have no end of issues with our broadband, we've tried BT, Sky, and TalkTalk and they are all exactly the same.
We have far slower speeds than we should achieve and dozens of drop offs every day.
The house is as far as it's possible to get from the box apparantly and Openreach are out to our avenue on a very regular basis.
Part of the problem seems to be that the cable from the telegraph pole outside our house goes into the wrong room for us and we'd like to have a new cable from the pole to a different room.
We don't want a second line just to move the first.
Please does anyone know how we go about this and how much it is likely to cost?
Do we contact our internet & phone provider, or Openreach or a.n.other?
Thanks in advance

What speeds are you expecting to achieve? Sounds like this is a wifi issue and nothing to do with the line. If you want to move the router to another position then install an extension socket, you don't need the entry point moving.
Put your details into the following link and post what it shows.

The answer is their standard charge plus however long it takes them to pointlessly faff around moving your line entry point to another room because apparently WiFi isn't a thing multiplied by their hourly rate.1 -

Having the master socket moved just to get better wi-fi is akin to cracking a nut with a sledgehammer, so the easiest solution here is if the mountain won't come to you, you have to go to to the mountain.0

Also, @georgiac can I take it those speeds are from speed tests done via wifi? If so you really need to run a speed test whilst connected directly to the router via ethernet to get a better and more accurate idea of the speeds you could get. Also, log in to your router and look at the connection stats to see what the real connection speed is.
The disconnections we can't help with, that is clearly an issue you need to take up with your provider, the speed problems sound like a wifi issue which can easily be resolved.

you contact your provider (not openreach) and ask them for a quote to move the line to wherever you want it.0

Openreach charge around £128 to change the entry point of a line.1
