im sure it wont be cheaper than what it is now.

which in turn will mean more foreign truck drivers from abroad who get their fuel cheap over the water

what does that mean, what effect will that have?

Boycotting the retailer won't make any difference. They are not the ones making any money.

Blockading the distributors won't really help, but it will push it into the public psyche. They can bring the price down a little, but the controlling factors are the producers and the Goverment.

Rioting didn't stop the poll charge. Public refusing to pay it and the public vociferously objecting to it made the Government withdraw unpopular tax.

The latest means of objection is the No.10 poll. If we all use it they will get the message.

Or, better still, stop using petrol ....... I dare you!

it means that they run bent as they arent policed as vigourously as british drivers, its the norm for foreign drivers to drive for over 12 hours, british drivers have to take breaks after driving 4 and a half and are strictly governed by tachographs which will show exactly how long they have been driving and if the correct break has been taken, also, alot of foreign trucks are not limited to a certain speed like the british counterparts, not to mention all the sideswipes done by left hand drive trucks.

Do better than stop buying petrol, let someone make a new political party and have this as one of their manifestos, why not put the extra tax on cigs or booze, to some their cars/vehicles are essential to get to work, its not essential to smoke or drink

right ok, but do you really think that is going to be looked at as more important than PROFIT and the amount of TAX put on fuel?

if only you ran the country eh, all the problems would be sorted easily. Take it you dont smoke or drink then!

We don't NEED to use petrol and diesel. Did you see Top Gear at the weekend?

A rep-mobile running on "bio-diesel" came in quite a decent place in the 24hr race @ Silverstone. Virtually unchanged vehicle and can be used in trucks as well. We can ALL do this NOW.

The original Ford was designed to be run on ethanol. Grow crops which produce sugars. Ferment the sugars and distill the result (illegal and dangerous for us to do at home). Can even burn the solids as the fuel for the still. This gives ethanol. And the whole process is carbon neutral. Modern cars will produce a little less power as you need to change the timing a little. Can be done NOW.

Take the effluvial output from our homes and farms, put it into a digester. Produces methane. Burn the methane in a turbine to produce electricity. Put it into the grid. If you Google it there is at least one in full production in Wales.

Use wind and wave power to top up the grid.

Split water using the electricity to produce oxygen and hydrogen. Use as fuel.

We HAVE the answers, just haven't got the will to do anything about it ...... yet.
