    The list of officials permitted to certify your identity include:
    • A Land Registry employee - check whether they are accepting face to face appointments
    • A solicitor
    • A barrister
    • A legal executive
    • A licensed conveyancer
    • A notary public
    • A serving officer of the UK armed forces overseas
    • A non-UK lawyer (they have to provide evidence of their right to practise in this way)

    Really? That surprises me - it's certainly not the case in the area where I work, I suspect partly due to there being very few Notaries about!
